Come Prepared

There is no such thing as too much preparation! Before your design appointment, gather up your ideas whether that’s old school magazine cuttings or your Pinterest board. The more images you gather, the clearer your personal preferences will become. Maybe that’s a material, a design detail or an entire style approach. This process will also help you to get clear on what turns your blood cold. For some stainless steel worktops make them come out in goosebumps, for others it’s handleless kitchens. If we’re talking bedrooms, maybe you have very particular wardrobe requirements. There are no rules, this is about you.

Be Realistic

Consider how you cook, how often, how much you need to freeze, how much fresh and dried food you need to store (no harm to do a count, it’s amazing how little we remember when we’re not standing in our kitchens). What electrical appliances are essential to your happiness? Think coffee machine, toaster… Think about any lessons you’ve learned from previous kitchen and interior projects. Maybe you know from experience that a large single bowl sink is essential for you. If we’re talking bathrooms, maybe the biggest lesson is that you know you need your own dedicated basin! Perhaps you feel utterly clueless and overwhelmed, we promise that’s ok too. We’re here to clear the fog of overwhelm.

Come with an Open Mind

Try to bring your ideas with an open mind. Perhaps you’ve always dreamed of a high gloss painted kitchen, but your young family means you don’t have time for endless polishing of finger prints. Our design team will find a way to bring the luxury of high gloss in a different way, perhaps in an area that’s harder for small hands to get to! We find the best designs come from a meeting of minds – your dreams and ideas teamed with our knowledge and experience.

Come as You Are

If you don’t know the first thing about cooking and have been known to use your oven to store prized footwear, there’s no judgement from us! Maybe you don’t really know what you love despite endless saved images from social media. Perhaps your family has additional needs that must be considered. Wherever you’re at with your project and whatever your situation is, we’ll get the best result if we really understand where you’re coming from.

When it comes to budget, be clear where your limits are and we’ll work with you to find creative solutions. Being presented with a design that blows the budget is so disheartening, so let us know what we have to work with and we’ll make every cent count.
